PURPOSE: A side member of a floor frame of a vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce processing and assembling time, improve productivity, and cut down manufacturing cost by forming the side member with an extrusion-molded single part, to lighten the vehicle and improve fuel efficiency due to the light weight for strength, and to increase the stability of the vehicle against a collision by largely reducing the deformation of a front vehicle body by dispersing impact applied to the front vehicle body to a rear vehicle body in the collision. CONSTITUTION: Side members(1) are arranged right and left in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle and integrally connected by a cross member(2) to form both side frames of a vehicle body. The side member is a single part integrally molded to continue from the front end to the rear end as a single body. The edge of the side member has a chamfered closed curve cross-section. A radially expanded flange unit is formed at the front end of the side member, a rear end flange unit of a stay(5) is combined to the flange unit, and a bumper beam is combined to the flange unit of the front end of the stay.
