PURPOSE: A method for servicing a birthday alarming function registered in a telephone directory is provided to additionally input a birthday of other party when registering a telephone number of the other party in a cellular phone telephone directory, and to enable a user to recognize a day corresponding to the birthday of the other party when an alarming function is set, thereby executing an alarming service. CONSTITUTION: A user additionally inputs a birthday of other party when inputting a telephone number of the other party(S1). If the birthday is inputted in a telephone directory, a system suggests an input window for selecting whether to set the birthday of the other party as an anniversary(S2). If the user inputs a key for setting the birthday as the anniversary, the system suggests an input window for selecting whether to set an alarming function on the birthday(S3). If the user inputs a short message on the birthday of the other party after setting the alarming function(S4), the system stores the message in a memory, executes the alarming function on a day corresponding to the birthday, and transmits the reserved short message to the telephone number of the other party(S5).
