PURPOSE: Provided is a catalyst for use in olefin polymerization and copolymerization, which has high catalytic activity and stereoregularity, a controlled shape of catalyst particles and increased average particle size. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst for olefin polymerization and copolymerization is a solid complex titanium catalyst obtained by the method comprising the steps of: (i) dissolving a non-reductive magnesium compound in a mixed solvent of a cyclic ether, a C1-C3 alcohol and a C4-C20 alcohol to form a magnesium solution; (ii) reacting the magnesium solution with a transition metal compound to recrystallize solid particles; and (iii) reacting the recrystallized solid particles with a titanium compound and an electron donor, wherein the mole ratio of the C4-C20 alcohol to the C1-C3 alcohol is 1:0.01-1:0.4.
