A control unit and a hydraulic control valve couple a forward clutch (65) and a reverse brake (66), which set power transmission through a continuous variable ratio-change mechanism (CVT) and a fixed ratio rotational transmission mechanism (GT). The forward clutch is released before a low clutch (46) is set to engagement state brake during switching of a transmission from neutral mode to in-gear mode.
