A water soluble tablet composition (C1) comprises at least one film forming polymer having acidic functional group and a degree of neutralization ranging from 20 - 100 wt.%; and at least one film modifying agent. An independent claim is included for the preparation of (C1) involving applying the film forming polymer in liquid form to a tablet surface; and drying the film to form a protective film coating around the tablet.
