PURPOSE: An electric connector is provided to securely connect female and male connectors to each other and improve reliability of coping with a high voltage. CONSTITUTION: A female connector is constructed in a manner that a socket contact connected to the end of each of multiple electric wires(41) is horizontally accommodated in a contact accommodating room set in a female housing and a holding part(4) for holding and supporting a lance(43) is protruded from the inner side wall of the contact accommodating room. A male connector includes an insulating male housing for housing a plurality of male contacts connected to the socket contacts. The male housing has an empty space at the front part. Confirmation windows(16) that expose the lance holding part are installed on the wall of the female housing such that the confirmation windows are covered by the male housing when the female housing and male housing are combined with each other.
