摘要 PURPOSE: An authenticating method for a high-speed handover process in a WLAN(Wireless Local Area network) is provided to enable a terminal to receive a new session key by using a secret key, and to enable a new access point to receive the new session key from an authentication server by using a secret key shared with the authentication server, thereby authenticating the terminal at high speed. CONSTITUTION: When an initial access is set with an access point(300), a terminal performs a previous authentication process and obtains a password shared between the terminal and an authentication server(305). The terminal calculates a secret key by using the password(310), and generates authentication information(315). The authentication information is encoded to the first cipher text with a permanent PID of the terminal by using the secret key(320). The terminal transmits the first cipher text to the authentication server through the access point(325). If the second cipher text is received from the authentication server through the access point(330), the terminal decodes the second cipher text with the secret key and detects a random number and a session key(335). If the random number is the same as a random number of the authentication information, the terminal encodes data to be transmitted to the access point and decodes data received from the access point(340).
