PURPOSE: An oil checking device for a compressor of an air conditioner is provided to expand the life span of the compressor and to improve performance of the air conditioner by deciding the proper amount of oil and the replacement of the oil and coping with the oil problems in advance. CONSTITUTION: An oil checking device for a compressor of an air conditioner is composed of an oil container body(1) connected to a high-pressure unit(a) of the air conditioner, made from transparent materials, and formed in a closed structure; a three-way valve(3) for selectively opening a gas line(11) connected to the upside of the oil container body and a liquid line(13) connected to the lower side of the oil container body; a ball float(5) embedded in the oil container body; and an oil amount/state display unit(7) attached to the oil container body to display a reference oil level for the level of the compressor oil as the ball float rises and a reference color of the oil.
