FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. Proposed exhaust system contains exhaust manifold for combining exhaust gas flows of two and more cylinders of internal combustion engines. Tubular casing accommodating cellular member adjoins outlet section of exhaust manifold. Passage space is found between outlet section and cellular member. Said passage space accommodates, at least, first guide plate to deflect, at least, part of exhaust gas flows, said plate being casing component. Claim contains also description of method of delivering exhaust gas flows to cellular member. Said gas flows, at least partially, get to cellular member from different directions. Gas flows are deflected by means of at least first guide plate before coming onto cellular member. Said guide plate is component of casing. This is made to partially change direction of exhaust gas flow to opposite direction relative to initial direction of said flows of exhaust gases and to provide getting of exhaust gas flows onto cellular member with delay. EFFECT: reduced toxicity of exhaust gases of internal combustion engine when starting from cold, increased service life of cellular member. 12 cl, 6 dwg |
