The compound is prepared by interaction of 4-methyl-2-aminopyridine with tetrachlorophthalic acid anhydride. The compound represents white crystalline substance that is soluble in water, ethanol, DMFA (dimethylformamide), DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide) with value Tm = 200-201 C. The compound elicits hypertensive activity and enhances arterial blood pressure reliably in anesthetized cats in the dose 5.15 mg/kg (0.1 LD50) in intravenous administration by 51 ± 8.1 mm of mercury column and acts for 60 min.
