A user purchases a package (50) including a dedicated recording medium (52) which can be used in a content distribution system (10). The user mounts the recording medium (52) onto a content write device (100) and requests write of a desired content. When the recording medium (52) is a dedicated medium, the content write device (100) acquires a content specified by the user from a content management device (200) and writes it onto the recording medium (52). Since an advance payment is set for the recording medium (52) in advance, the content write need not be accompanied by an operation such as input of a credit card number. Thus, the user can easily acquire a content via a network.
