PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a substance containing hexavalent chromium to completely prevent the elution of the hexavalent chromium by reducing the chromium and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the method, the substances containing hexavalent chromium is contacted with a compound having a coordination bond to reduce the hexavalent chromium. The contact can be performed by kneading the compound with the substance or scattering the compound on the substance. A dithiocarbamic acid salt, a 2,3-dimercapto-1-propane sulfonate, and triethanolamine can be used as the compound having a coordination bond. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
