PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ionic material suitable as a material constituting a material for an ionic conductor forming an electrochemical device by suppressing discoloration of a product and contamination with impurities, and by reducing a viscosity. SOLUTION: This method for producing the ionic material having an anion represented by formula (1) [wherein, X is at least one kind of element selected from B, C, N, O, Al, Si, P, S, As and Se; M<SP>1</SP>and M<SP>2</SP>are the same or different, and each an organic linking group; Q is an organic group; (a) is an integer of≥1; and (b), (c), (d) and (e) are each an integer of≥0] involves a step for reacting a compound having the anion represented by formula (1) with a bromide.
