PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrazolopyridine compound represented by formula (1) and useful as a therapeutic agent for fibrosis and a therapeutic agent for arteriosclerosis by specifically antagonizing sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor (Edg-5). SOLUTION: The pyrazolopyridine compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each a 1-6C alkyl group, or the like; R<SP>4</SP>is a hydrogen atom, or the like; R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are each the same or different and hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or the like; X is NH, O, CH<SB>2</SB>, or the like; Y is NH, or the like; Z is CO, or the like; W is NH, or the like; and A is an aryl group, a heteroaryl group or the like) or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt is useful as the therapeutic agent for the fibrosis by specifically acting on the Edg-5.
