COATED CUTTING TOOL

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated cutting tool providing a favorable working surface grade and providing just a small dispersion in the dimension caused by welding in a lathe turning of a highly precise component of generally a micro meter unit. SOLUTION: This coated cutting tool is formed with a coating layer on a cutting face and a flank of a cutting blade 5, the film thickness of the coating layer 2 of the cutting face is 0.4-3μm and the film thickness of the flank is 1μm or less. The use of this coated cutting tool can prevent welding of the cutting face and prevent white turbidity of the working surface caused by the abrasion of the flank so as to retain the highly precise and favorable cutting surface grade for a long period of time.
