AC ELECTRIC FIELD PRECIPITATOR AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE ELECTRIC PRECIPITATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ac electric field precipitator which can simplify a system and prevent dust re-scattering. SOLUTION: A high ac voltage is applied between the linear electrode 23 of an electrification part 40 and flat electrodes 21 and 22. Not only a high sinusoidal wave voltage but also a high square voltage can be used as the high ac voltage. Since the high ac voltage is applied to the electrification part 40, positive and negative corona discharges are generated alternately. By the corona discharges, particles passing through the electrification part 40 are charged alternately positively and negatively, so that dust is collected efficiently by a dust collection part 50. By applying the same high ac voltage to the electrification part 40 and the dust collection part 50, a simplified system can be constructed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
