PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can surely remove dust and dirt caught by a filter device by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The filter device 71 catches dust and dirt sucked in together with suction air only when the suction air by the driving of an electric blower 6 passes through. When the driving of the electric blower 6 is turned on, a circuit board 91 drives a vibrator 84 prior to the driving of the electric blower 6, and the filter device 71 is shaken. By the vibration, dust and dirt caught by the filter device 71 can be efficiently removed. Since dust and dirt stuck to the filter device 71 are removed prior to cleaning, the reduction of the suction efficiency of the electric blower 6 generated by the adhesion of dust and dirt to the filter device 71 can be prevented from occurring.
