The office chair which has a vertically -adjustable column supporting seat and backrest has a first armrest (3) with a pair of adjacent buttons at the front end so that one button serves to unlock the movement of the seat surface and incline of the backrest whilst the second button serves to activate the locking of the sat surface and incline of the backrest. A second armrest symmetric with the first has at the front end an individual control button to adjust the height of the seat. The control buttons interact with at least one lever which is elastically reset.
