<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can form images of high image quality without the occurrence of clearing in a midsection during transfer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises at least forming electrostatic latent images on an image carrier, forming toner images on the image carrier by supplying toner to the electrostatic latent images and transferring the toner images formed on the image carrier onto an intermediate transfer member or a recording material. The toner images are formed on the image carrier in such a manner that the average value of the area of a region of the higher pile height than the average value of the pile heights of the toner layer in a solid image section attains the value within 10 times the average area (=πD<SP>2</SP>/4) of one particle of the toner calculated from the volume average grain size D of the toner when the toner layer forms ≥2 layers of the solid images on the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
