<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle head light for forming a pre-determined light distribution pattern by lighting from a projector type lighting fixture unit, reducing the length of the lighting fixture unit while maintaining sufficient brightness of the diffusion area of the light distribution pattern. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge bulb 22 is inserted from the side of the light axis Ax of a projecting lens 28 and fixed to a reflector 24, to reduce the length of the lighting fixture unit 20. In fixing the discharge bulb 22, the bulb is displaced downwardly apart from the light axis Ax for being inserted and fixed to the reflector. This prevents a hole 24c for inserting and fixing the discharge bulb 22 from being formed in an area of a light axis side in a reflecting surface 24a of the reflector 24, and allows the light axis side area to be effectively used for light distribution control. A reflecting light from the light axis side area forms a diffusion area of the light distribution pattern for a low beam, securing sufficient brightness in the diffusion area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
