PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter for receiving satellite broadcast where size reduction and low cost manufacturing can be achieved without deteriorating power supply efficiency of a first and a second probes. SOLUTION: In the converter for receiving satellite broadcast, where radio wave entered in the tube of a waveguide 1 travels as first linearly polarized wave and second linearly polarized wave that are orthogonal to each other, the first linearly polarized wave is reflected on a short-circuiting terminal 4 to allow a first probe 2 to detect it, and the second linearly polarized wave is reflected on a short-circuiting terminal 5 to allow a second probe 3 to detect it, the first short-circuiting terminal 4 is protruded in the same direction as the first probe and its both end sides are wide sections 4b and central portion is a narrow section 4a. When the short-circuiting terminal 4 of this shape is used, a reflection area at the central area having strong electric field is increased regarding the first linearly polarized wave and reflection at the central area having strong electric field is reduced is reduced regarding the second linearly polarized wave, and thus the power supply efficiency of the first and second probes 2, 3 does not deteriorate even if an impedance mating unit of a complicated shape is not provided in the waveguide 1.
