PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for enhancing heat input efficiency to the object to be heated and achieving uniform heating temperature, in moving heating for a long-length object to be heated. SOLUTION: The moving heating method heats the object, in a manner that each of the portions in a longitudinal direction of the object is induction heated by a narrow width induction coil 12, with continuously moving the object relatively to the induction coil. A composite coil separated into a plurality of element coils 12a, 12b with respect to the moving direction is used as the induction coil 12. The same element coils are used in a form of non-conduction. Alternative current is applied by an alternative current applying mechanism 13 to each element coil 12a, 12b, alternatively on a time-sharing basis according to energizing conditions determined individually, thus achieving induction heating under desired conditions.
