PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable proximity switch mechanism with little malfunction and an electronic apparatus equipped with it by widening the width of an applicable magnetically sensitive switch characteristic by lessening magnetic leakage to a magnetic body, if any, adjacent to a magnet and securing enough effective magnetic flux for a magnetically sensitive switch. SOLUTION: In the proximity switch mechanism having a magnetically sensitive switch such as a reed switch fitted to one mechanism and a magnet fitted to the other so as to oppose the reed switch, and detecting the proximity of the two mechanisms by the proximity of the magnet and the magnetically sensitive switch, one face of the magnet opposing the magnetically sensitive switch is magnetized in two poles parallel with the magnetically sensitive switch in a length direction.
