PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and efficiently manufacture a glass worked article formed by welding a metal bar to a glass block. SOLUTION: The glass worked article inserts a pipe-like part of the pipe-like metal bar 2 on one end into a mold filled with melted glass 3, and is manufactured to be taken out from the mold after being cooled. In addition, the glass worked article can be also manufactured by injecting the melted glass into the mold to which the pipe-like part of the metal bar is mounted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
