METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING SPACE BETWEEN PLATES IN LAP WELDING, WELDING METHOD AND WELDING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent any welding defect in the lap welding of plates by correctly measuring the space between the plates in the lap welding, and performing an adequate welding work based on the result of measurement. SOLUTION: The vibration generated by a vibration generator 3 is given to non-welded portions of plates W1and W2by a vibration transmission roller 4, and the vibration given to the plates W1and W2is detected by a pickup sensor 5. When the vibration given to the non-welded portions of the plates W1and W2is detected via the plates, the frequency detected according to the space between the plates becomes different, and by utilizing this fact, the space between the plates immediately before the welding is obtained by referring the detected frequency to the correlation between the pre-grasped space between plates and the detected frequency by an analyzing means 6. The pressure to the plates W1and W2by a press roller 9 is adjusted according to the correct space between the plates immediately before the welding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
