PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond burr for dentistry to be used for grinding a natural tooth or a dental prosthesis such as a dental repair, denture and artificial tooth in the dental clinic and dental technique, excellent in removing grinding wastes and grinding feel and hardly allowing grinding wastes to coil around the burr. SOLUTION: In the diamond burr for dentistry, diamond grains are fixed to the tip of a burr body with a metal plating layer evenly including fluoride compound particles with the average particle diameter of 0.01-50μm, smaller than the average particle diameter of the diamond grains. It is preferable that the volume fraction of the fluoride compound particles included in the metal plating layer is 0.1-60%, and that 0.1-15 wt% weight of a phosphorous compound is further included in the metal plating layer if the metal plating layer is a nickel plating layer.
