The electric motor (42) has a shaft (40) with a pulley wheel driving a belt (38) and a second pulley wheel (36). This wheel runs on bearings on the shaft (14) at one end of the belt winding spindle (10). The shaft carries a casing (16) for an electro-magnetic clutch with windings (30) and pole plates (28). A similar clutch at the other end of the shaft is fastened to a fixed part of the frame (12) to act as a brake.
