The device dries printed sheets transported over rotating cylinders and has a main dryer unit with an electrode unit, infrared dryer unit, blowing air feed unit and suction unit and a secondary unit with an electrode unit, blowing air feed unit and suction unit arranged in series above the rotating cylinders. The device dries printed sheets transported over rotating cylinders (2-4) and has at least one infrared radiation unit (19,20) for heating the sheet surface, at least one electrode unit (16,18,23,26) for connection to a high voltage source to produce an electric field directed towards the sheet surface, a blowing air feed unit (21,24,27) and a suction unit(22,25,28) . A main dryer unit (13) with an electrode unit, infrared dryer unit, blowing air feed unit and suction unit and a secondary unit (14,15) with an electrode unit, blowing air feed unit and suction unit are arranged above the cylinders in series.
