<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can shorten a down time as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A white solid image is outputted by the image forming apparatus, and both faces of the white solid image are read by an image input device to detect dirt of the image, which is caused in the image forming device. In this case, the outputted white solid image has had a mark formed which indicates a direction of image read. Different outside diameters are given to rolls which are used in the image forming apparatus and are brought into direct contact with a transfer material, in order to locate a cause which brings about dirt of the image. The transfer material for forming the white solid image thereon is an adhesive sheet, and a means for locating an abnormal position is a period of dirt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
