<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an air bag for easily and inexpensively manufacturing the air bag without performing a troublesome work of stitching an air bag base fabric along its edge. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag base fabric is woven to have a bag part 42 of a double structure made by a hollow weave, a single woven part 43 of a single structure surrounding the bag part 42, and an opening 44 for being connected with an inflator, made in the double structure and provided to part of the single woven part 43. If required, a tether 45 for regulating the expansion shape of the bag part 42 is formed to project on the periphery of the single woven part 43, being positioned at the opposite side of the opening 44 for being connected with the inflator. After trimming the air bag base fabric 41 approximately along the outer peripheral edge of the single woven part 43, the air bag base fabric 41 is reversed through the opening 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
