PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine that can increase the ability to attract customers of the vending machine and contribute to sales by delivering a prize when given conditions are satisfied. SOLUTION: A mode switch 27 can select any one of a first to a fourth mode permitting the delivery of an article and a prize and a fifth mode permitting the delivery only of an article. A selection of the fifth mode permits normal article selling wherein a selected article is sold upon a coin or bill input and a depression of an article selection button 4. A selection of any of the first to fourth modes permits prize delivery from a prize delivery unit 15 concurrent with or independent of article delivery when given conditions are satisfied.
