PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam chain drop preventing structure for an internal combustion engine, acting both as a cam chain drop preventing plate and a cam chain tensioner basic end pressing member, reducing the number of components and assembling work and improving the productivity, in the structure wherein a crankshaft is rotatably journaled to a crankcase through a roller bearing, and the cam chain drop preventing plate is mounted in adjacent to an outer peripheral part of a drive sprocket of a variable valve transmission system cam chain fitted to the crank shaft. SOLUTION: The cam chain drop preventing plate and the cam chain tensioner basic end pressing member are integrally formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
