PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge which is applicable to a server or a workstation and in which a security tag is built. SOLUTION: A shutter 24, an identifying tag 25 of a tape and a slide switch 26 to physically set permission/inhibition of writing to the tape are disposed at a first corner, a second corner and a third corner of a casing, respectively. The security tag 27 is disposed at a forth corner diagonal to the second corner at which the identifying tag is disposed.
