PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of a clamping means and to operate the means at a low load in a disk device. SOLUTION: When a clamp chassis 6 turns clockwise, the abutting section 35a of the rear end of a clamp arm 35 hits a fixed piece 9h provided on the ceiling section of an external chassis 3, the arm 35 turns counterclockwise, a clamper 36 is separated from a disk, and clamping of the disk is released. Thus, the arm 35 is not greatly tilted during the clamp releasing. Moreover, the energizing force of an energizing means which energizes the arm 35 is not activated as load until the arm 35 hits the piece 9h. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
