PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prize providing method using a vending machine, and a vending machine that can increase amusement and expect an improvement in sales. SOLUTION: A host computer sends a plurality of keywords to each vending machine 100. When a customer purchases an article with the use of an IC card 400, the keyword corresponding to each vending machine 100 is recorded on the IC card 400.
