PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column and beam join structure of a square steel pipe column capable of securing sufficient rigidity and strength to reduce a cost. SOLUTION: This column and beam join structure is constituted by joining an H-steel beam 2 having a smaller width than that of the square steel pipe column 1 with the steel pipe column, and a beam join part of the steel pipe column 1 has a non-diaphragm structure. The beam 2 is joined with the steel pipe column 1 through join plates 3 joined with upper and lower flanges 2a in beam ends, respectively. A column join end of each join plate 3 is wider than beam width and is butt-welded on the side face of the steel pipe column 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
