PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic, particularly, the cosmetic containing a dialkyl ester of sebacic acid, having softening, emollient and cleansing effects on the skin, imparting excellent smoothness and skin touch feeling and having excellent mutual solubility. SOLUTION: The cosmetic contains the dialkyl ester of the sebacic acid, and as a result, the cosmetic has the excellent mutual solubility, and softening, emollient and cleansing effects on the skin in combination, and imparts the excellent smoothness and skin touch feeling.
