PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorption mechanism capable of absorbing reaction force at the time when speedily stopping the rotation of a torque wrench as impact torque is generated on the torque wrench furnished with an impact torque generator. SOLUTION: The torque wrench furnished with the impact torque generator 3 constitutes its characteristic feature of devising it to absorb the reaction force at the time when generating the impact torque by disengaging a clutch by interposing the clutch between an internal gear 83 to be engaged with a planetary gear 23 of a reduction gear 2 and a gear case 81.
