PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower electrode device for an electric resistance welding machine, which can use a plurality of electrode tips by changing them. SOLUTION: The body 1 of the lower electrode device has an electrode tip fixing plate 3, on which a plurality of electrode tip mounting parts 2 are arranged at constant angular intervals, arranged such that any one of the electrode tip mounting parts 2 is held at rest by means of a rotary driving mechanism 4 at the position opposite to an upper electrode. Further, a rotary shaft 5 for turning the electrode tip fixing plate 3 is provided with a cooling water passage for cooling the electrode tips to be mounted on the electrode tip mounting parts 2 by being coupled thereto.
