PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accessory for moxa cautery using a moxa bar which facilitate consciousness compensation and miasma removal by moxa cautery by selecting two kinds of thermal stimulation, either strong or weak, and is safe and easy-to-use even by a visually impaired person. SOLUTION: This accessory comprises a guard (3) and a moxa guide (1). The guard is a longitudinal cylindrical part having an open upper end, a lower end and an aperture. The aperture is located closely to the upper end of the guard (3) and has a size that a moxa bar (6) can penetrate. The moxa guide is a half cylindrical part elongated laterally. One end of the moxa guide (1) is formed in one piece with the moxa guard (3) so that the center of the penetrating aperture matches with the center of a virtual circle containing the cross section of the moxa guide (1). In addition, a moxa stop (2) is provided on the inside of the guard (3) on the extension of the moxa guide (1) for locating the combustion part of the moxa bar (6) in the center of the guard (3).
