The system to cover an opening (2) in a building wall, for an installation, has a covering plate (10) mounted to the opening edge by a hinge (11) for the plate to swing open and be closed. The hinge has two axes, with a fixed axis (20) at the wall (1) and an axis (21) at the swing plate. When the plate is in the closed position, the axis at the wall side is at a larger gap from the edge of the opening than the hinge at the plate side. Both axes are linked together by a hinge bar (23) so that the plate swings with the hinge bar, which has a swing movement at the edge of the opening. In the closed position, the hinge bar is deeper from view behind the covering plate, at right angles to the plane of the wall opening.
