<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily obtain an image influenced by features of colors of a color image by appropriately choosing an adequate combination of colors without forcing a user to carry out a complicated operation when the image is formed to correspond to the color image as an original image by using inks in a plurality of limited colors. <P>SOLUTION: Feature quantities (hue angle or the like) of a plurality of usable inks are registered in an ink data storage section 22 of a control section 8, beforehand. When image data of a color image to be printed is supplied from a scanner section 2, a color converting section 21 calculates a tendency (hue angle of each image) of a color of the image data. A comparing/calculating section 23 determines an optimum combination of the inks capable of influencing the features of colors of the color image to be printed based on the tendency of the colors of the color image calculated by the color converting section 21 and the feature quantities of the plurality of inks stored in the ink data storage section 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
