<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the illegal use of a card due to the leakage of a password code when dealing with a card for which the password code is necessary. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided to communicate with the host computer of the financial institution of a card (cash card or Debit card or credit card or the like), and to withdraw cash or do shopping by using the card for which a password code (normally, four digit numbers) is necessary from a device or equipment. This host computer side is provided with a means for automatically updating the password code without making it necessary to change the password code at terminal equipment side.
