<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter for liquid crystal display device, which controls the luminance of a lamp installed in a back light on the back of a liquid crystal panel with an illumination duty ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter includes an inverter control part which generates 1st and 2nd basic signals for pulse-width modulation, imposes pulse-width modulation on the 1st basic signal with a dimming signal to generate a lamp drive signal having high and low sections, controls the illumination point of time of the lamp drive signal each time a pulse of a vertical synchronizing signal is generated, controls the 2nd basic signal to be synchronized with a horizontal synchronizing signal, and compares the 2nd basic signal with a specified reference voltage to provide oscillation timing, a power switching element which performs turn-on/off control over the output of a DC power source with the signal of the inverter control part; and a voltage boosting part which converts the voltage of the lamp drive signal into a high voltage by a transformer and applies a lamp drive signal of the converted high voltage to the lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
