PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device whose display grade can be improved with a circuit of comparatively small scale even if the display device cannot properly be driven when a driving signal is modulated to a degree that it is set to be appropriate when gradation shift is sufficient. SOLUTION: A flag generation circuit 25 compares video data D (i, j and k-1) of a previous frame FR with video data D (i, j and k) of a present frame. When gradation shift is decay, a real value is stored in a flag memory 26 as a flag of the present frame. A power decision processing part 27 instructs to perform a special processing when the real value is stored in the flag memory 26 and gradation shift to the present frame is rise. When the special processing is instructed, an output signal generation circuit 24 outputs signals O (i, j and k) reducing the degree of modulation for emphasizing gradation modulation rather than to drive a pixel based on data that a regular modulation processing part 22 outputs.
