PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice synthesis method which obtains a smooth synthesized voice by allowing phoneme units to be selected in consideration of articulation parameters. SOLUTION: In the voice synthesis method, a combination of phoneme units which has the least sum of distortion from a target and connection distortion of phoneme units is selected from combinations of phoneme units stored in a waveform dictionary, and a synthesized voice waveform is generated on the basis of the selected combination of phoneme units. Information related to the difference of an articulation parameter between two phoneme units to be connected is used as an element of connection distortion of phoneme units. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
