PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict an increase of a NOx discharge rate when accelerating by preventing reduction of an EGR gas flow rate in relation to a request. SOLUTION: This engine control device is provided with an EGR valve 9, an actuator 10, a means 11 for controlling opening of the EGR valve to obtain an EGR control target value, a means 11 for computing a target driving torque on the basis of detection values of opening of an accelerator and car speed, a means 11 for computing a target throttle valve opening on the basis of the target driving torque, and an electric control throttle device 67 for electrically controlling a throttle valve 6 to obtain the target throttle valve opening. This engine control device is also provided with a means 11 for setting a target throttle valve opening corresponding to the maximum opening speed of the EGR valve 10 during the time when the EGR valve 10 is driven for opening at the maximum speed previously set on the basis of the limit speed of the actuator 10.
