摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin being excellent in hue, transparency, and heat stability and reduced in an increase in an acetaldehyde content in e.g. melt molding. SOLUTION: The polyester resin is obtained by esterifying a terephthalic acid-based dicarboxylic acid component with an ethylene glycol-based diol component and polycondensing the obtained ester in the presence of (1) a compound of at least one element selected from the group consisting of the titanium family elements of group 4A in the periodic table, (2) a magnesium compound, and (3) a phosphorus compound. The contents of the respective atoms originated in compounds (1). (2), and (3) satisfy the relationships: (I) 0.020≤T≤0.200, (II) 0.040≤M≤0.400, (III) 0.020≤P≤0.300, (IV) 0.50≤M/P≤3.00, and (V) 0.20≤M/T≤4.00 [wherein T (mol/ ton of resin) is the total amount of the titanium family atoms of compound (1); M (mol/ton of resin) is the total amount of the magnesium atoms of compound (2); and P (mol/ton of resin) is the total amount of the phosphorus atoms of compound (3)].
