PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device of an automobile capable of facilitating control of braking force and improving brake feeling. SOLUTION: The braking device 1 of the automobile can control braking pressure in response to an operation amount of a brake pedal 2. The braking device comprises a treading pressure sensor 6 for detecting the operation amount of the brake pedal 2, a vehicle speed sensor 34 for detecting vehicle speed, a basic braking pressure setting means (ECU) 30 for setting basic braking pressure corresponding to the operation amount of the brake pedal detected by the treading pressure sensor 6, a build-up rate setting means (ECU) 30 for gradually changing the braking pressure when the operation amount of the brake pedal is constant based on a vehicle speed decrement decreased by braking, and braking pressure generating means 4, 14, 16, 18 and 30 for generating target braking pressure calculated based on the basic braking pressure and the build-up rate.
