The device is particularly suitable for preventing the unauthorised removal of documents that have been placed in binders and folders. This is achieved by a binder mechanism that is configured according to the principal claim. Said bores (11) are equipped with snap-in devices (13), which are designed in such a way that in the secure state they engage in the groove (21) that is at the end of the rings. In addition, the base plate comprises security elements that are provided with a locking mechanism (5) and that are configured in such a way that in the closed state of the locking mechanism, the ring (2) cannot be released from the snap-in device (13).
